When Blake and I decided to become The Messinas in January 2020, we had our hearts set on a big New Year’s night brunch bash on January 1, 2021. We settled for January 1, 2022.
But between moving out of state, starting new jobs and two years of pandemic wedding planning re-planning, we needed a visually distilled brand to capture our spirit. Our enduring love of brunch and bon mot became our branding beacon. Specifically, a years-old pun from the start of our relationship.


Why the crossed out table numbers? Peak omicron and a cross-country blizzard squeezed our 250-count orange grove down to a concentrated 74. Morning-of replanting was required.
