50 Years of Sensational Stories
Concept | Art Direction | Design Execution
When the best thing about an agency is its people, the best thing about its anniversary are their tales. So after 50 years in advertising, the only way to commemorate Signal Theory’s success was to celebrate its most sensational stories.
After collecting accounts from agency leadership and employees across the decades, we shared their most cherished gems at a reunion-style 50th anniversary party. Stories like the legend of a founder’s infamous “S#!t F@%? Lunch Truck” reply-all. The saga of Nancy’s rental car adventure past the security spikes. And the day Dan’s domesticated raccoon crashed the Coleman pitch.
To give the evening its atmosphere of yesteryear, we expanded the Signal Theory brand using historical photography, groovy typography and bright, story-centric iconography.
The celebration culminated in a one-night-only short film of the agency’s top legends, narrated by the main characters themselves. It ensured the story of that night ended as all great tales do:
“You had to be there.”
